Before we head on to the right pairs, we have to first discuss the different face shapes. There are six in general: heart, square, round, diamond, oval, and long.

Heart 

Heart shape faces are determined by wider foreheads. Their faces tend to narrow toward their chins as well. The face seems to be like an inverted triangle. 

To soften the angles, the best earrings to wear are drop earrings, preferably those with teardrop styles or those with designs with fuller bottoms.

Square

A square shape face is characterized by a forehead, cheekbones, and jawline of the same widths. The chin tends to be flat, and the hairline is straight. 

Softening these angular shapes is quite easy, all you need to do is wear rounded shaped earrings like the hoops, and drop earrings with round designs. 

Round

A round shape face has round cheeks and has a wide length at the cheekbones. The facial features are near the ears, rather than toward to forehead the chin.

Long drop earrings are perfect for a round face. This type of earrings gives the illusion of having an elongated face, hence balancing the features.

Diamond

Women with diamond-shaped faces have a narrow forehead and chin, and they have prominent cheekbones.

Long drop earrings with short widths tend to soften broad cheekbones and accentuate the other parts of their face. The longer the earrings, the better.

Oval

Oval face shape is the best face shape because any earring style looks good with it. It is characterized by a slightly wider forehead, high cheekbones, and a rounded chin. 

Although any type of earrings is perfect for this shape, the most ideal pair is one that also has an oval shape. 

Long

Long faces are also known as narrow-shaped faces, and they are characterized by their length. It has little emphasis on the forehead and cheek.

To flatter this shape, go with wide studs or short and wide tassel earrings. Stay away from long drop earrings as they will elongate your face even more.
